The Augusta Junior Rowing Team is seeking youth ages 13-18 to join the team. A two-week trial period is available, and no experience is necessary. Practices are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4-6 p.m. at The Boathouse in Augusta.
The Marshall Family Y is holding registration for flag football and cheerleading through Tuesday. The programs are open to boys and girls ages 5-14. The Georgia Rockers Fastpitch Softball Organization will hold its tryouts for the 2008 12- and 14-under teams Sept. 15. Tryouts will be held at Patriots Park softball complex. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at the purple field.
A free conditioning camp is held at Blanchard Park every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday through August. Saturday camps will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and Tuesday and Thursday camps will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Lakeside High School cheerleading will play host to a "kiddie" camp Aug. 29 at the high school. The camp is open to participants pre-K to eighth grade and will run from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Cost is $30, and includes lunch and a T-shirt.
